Best Friends

There comes a point in a relationship, where you may have taken your personality compared to his personality for granted. He is not who you are in love with, but he has the potential to be the person you love. She may be the person you have been waiting for, but she has arrived at the most inopportune time.
I was told that when you are asked, who your best friend is, your answer should ALWAYS be your significant other, if it isn't then you may want to revamp your relationship. I was in a relationship where my significant other was my best friend. My best friend needed to take care of some things he had been holding off for YEARS.
I found a new best friend, I want to talk to him, I want to call him when I'm sad, I want to have him talk me off the ledge when I'm mad. But that's just it, we're friends - no funky business in between. How do I know if he feels the same? So now I play the waiting game. Oh how I love life and all it's rollercoasters!

Whirl Wind

I'm falling for a friend.
He's slowly falling for me.
Do we cross the line? Do we give it time?
He's not what I thought I wanted.
But he makes me laugh.
I deserve to laugh, right?

My heart still belongs to another.
And so does his.

I however am turning from what I've known to take a chance.
He it's not so easy.

My feelings will not hinder me from my choices.
As with all lovers, my friendship has been the ultimate first of everything.
But at what point can I say: "you must put me first."

I'm lost right now. My heart is on my sleeve. His is sheltered away.
